‘Slevin Associates’ is the trading name of Kevin S Slevin CTA(Fellow), ATT. The office of Slevin Associates is 23 Ticknell Piece Road Charlbury Chipping Norton Oxon OX7 37N.
Kevin Slevin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation is well known within the accountancy profession for his work as a taxation consultant, lecturer on topical tax issues and writer on tax topics. He has written frequently for Taxation magazine for over thirty years and received the LexisNexis ‘Tax Writer of the Year’ award in 2009. Kevin is an Associate of the Institute of Tax Technicians (‘ATT’).
After a career within the accountancy profession as a taxation specialist Kevin became an independent consultant advising practitioners in 1980 and he continued this role as a self-employed consultant until 1995 when his practice was acquired by the Parmentier Arthur Group (at which point he became a director thereof). In 2000, Kevin became a tax partner in Devon-based chartered accountants Francis Clark and in 2003 he was invited to become an equity partner in the Bristol-based chartered accountancy practice of Solomon Hare LLP. Solomon Hare LLP became part of the Smith and Williamson group in May 2005. Kevin returned to being an independent consultant, operating under the trade name of ‘Slevin Associates’ with effect from January 2006.
Having written a number of tax guides over many years Kevin saw the opportunity to both write and publish a guide on CGT entrepreneurs’ relief when this measure was announced in 2008. Spurred on by the success of the entrepreneurs’ relief guide Kevin was encouraged to write a guide on the enterprise investment scheme (‘EIS ‘) in 2009.
Two new guides will be completed soon. The first focuses solely on the seed enterprise investment scheme (‘SEIS’) and which will be sold as a companion to the EIS guide.
The second new publication in 2017 addresses the tax issues arising on divorce but is written with a particular emphasis on individuals who are in business.

Kevin’s role within the tax profession
In 2005 Kevin ceased his 12 year period as a Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation ('CIOT') where he was actively involved in the operations of the Institute. Throughout this period Kevin served on the Institute's Technical Committee making representations on government legislation etc and made a number of technical presentations to at Members' conferences.
Kevin represents the Association of Tax Technicians on HMRC's CGT Liaison Committee (now known as the Capital Taxes Liaison Committee)
Kevin has been invited to lecture at numerous CIOT branches and has also made presentations to other professional bodies including the Tax Faculty.

As a member of the Editorial Board of Taxation Magazine for many years Kevin has contributed numerous articles to this leading and well respected weekly tax publication.
